Looking back
He sees it all
It was her first date the night he came to call

Her dad said son
Have her home on time
And promise me you’ll never leave her side
He took her to a show in town
And he was ten feet off the ground

(Chorus)
He was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him
Down that old road
With the stars up above
He remembers where he was the night he fell in love
He was walking her home

Ten more years and a waiting room
At half past one
And the doctor said come in and meet your son

His knees went weak
When he saw his wife
She was smiling as she said he’s got your eyes

And as she slept he held her tight
His mind went back to that first night

(Chorus)

He walked her through the best days of her life
Sixty years together and he never left her side

A nursing home
At eighty-five
And the doctor said it could be her last night
And the nurse said Oh
Should we tell him now
Or should he wait until the morning to find out

But when they checked her room that night
He was laying by her side

Oh he was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh the way she smiled when he said this is not the end
And just for a while they were eighteen
And she was still more beautiful to him than anything
He was walking her home
He was walking her home

Looking back
He sees it all
It was her first date the night he came to call

This song made me cry.

Memorial Day Weekend was this past weekend and I had a blast. Daniel came to our cottage to visit me and the family and we were able to spend some time together. While fishing off the dock, my mom, who was sitting on the bench swing, spotted a baby turtle. So i went to see it. Daniel decided he wanted to keep it and raise it in houghton. I thought it was a good idea, he knows how to work with them and raise them. Our cute baby turtle is named Lando. He is SOOO CUTE!!!! I’m glad Daniel is able to take care of it. Other things that happened were we fished, went to meijer a couple of times, and just relaxed at the cottage. It was a very nice time. I’m so glad he was able to come.

Today was a pretty busy day for me. I went to the gym in the morning and then after lunch I left to go to Delta first to pick up CPR stuff for my class this Saturday, and then went to Saginaw. I had an interview/meeting at the VA hospital about a Student Nurse Externship. Orientation for that starts June 11. I’m happy that i get to work there. The experience will be wonderful for me and also the pay is very decent. Ii am saving up money to help support me and daniel once we get married. He will be doing the same thing. After the visit at the VA, came back to Midland and picked up my dress shoes that i will be wearing with my bridesmaids gown for my brother’s wedding.

Wedding planning is starting to get rolling. Me and Daniel are starting to get good ideas togeher, we just need to put these ideas into action. My goal sometime this summer is to find a reception hall. I found a list of good places in Midland, so there’s a start. Wedding planning isn’t easy when your brother has a wedding this summer. I can’t wait for his wedding. It will be fun and exciting.

It’s almost the month of June. That means my birthday is coming up and i’ll be the big 21. It’s exciting. I’ll need to renew my license too, with that i hope i get to take a new picture, cause my old one is horrible.

Slow Going

May 17, 2007 at 10:47 pm (Uncategorized)

Right now is just slow going and there is nothing really to do. I’m enjoying the relaxation but it gets pretty boring around here. I have applied for the Student Nurse Externship at the VA hospital in Saginaw and I also turned in another application at Brittany Manor to see if I could work there again this summer. I have heard nothing back. So I’m not quite sure what to do right now or where else to apply. Besides trying to find work, I’ve been thinking about a wedding date. May 31st is our first idea, but I’m being to see how it would be nicer to have it more in the middle of summer time like in June or July. My winter semester of 2008 that will run through April will be my hardest and most difficult semester of all pretty much and it will be hard to make sure all the wedding plans are going well during that time. I’m starting to see the stress behind wedding planning. Me and Daniel are just starting to get little ideas together, and I’m already stressed. I see how eloping is an option but no, I wouldn’t do that. I want a wedding that allows my family and close friends to experience it.

Again, I’m away from Daniel and I won’t see him til my birthday, June 29. I’ll be 21. I’m thankful I get to see him for my birthday, I can’t wait.

So the movies I need to go see are; Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At Worlds End, and Shrek 3. I think those are the hottest movies of the year right there. So, I need to see who is available to see those with me, cause it isn’t very fun to go alone, although if it comes to it, I would do it, cause i really really really want to see these movies.

Spring Time

May 1, 2007 at 9:52 am (Uncategorized)

It’s nice to be done with my first semester of clincals at Delta. I’ve got the summer off and right now I’m just relaxing. Yesterday I sent in an application at the VA hospital for their Student Nurse Technician Externship. If I can’t get a job there, I might go back to working as a CENA at Brittany Manor. It’s an option. But I do need a job for the summer and I’m in the process of finding one.

Had our first softball game yesterday night. We won which is always good. Our team name is Hittin’ It and it’s a Dow Corning team that my brother Mike is apart of and I’ve been chosen to play on the team too. I was apart of the team last year as well. It’s very fun. I was able to catch two fly balls that were blasted left center in the outfield, happened to be were I was positioned. So I was happy about that. When hitting I was able to get a base hit and the rest I blasted away but were caught unfortunately. But I didn’t strike out. The rule is with our team, if you strike out, you have to bring a 6 pack of beer next game. So sometimes there is a lot of beer to drink after the game. This year, the last half of the season, I’ll actually be able to buy beer myself and drink it legally!!! It’s exciting! It sucks being 20 and so close to being 21 but you’re not there yet. Oh well, I’ll get there eventually.

Sunday I leave for Houghton!!!! I’m happy to be able to see Daniel again. I’ll be gone from Sunday the 6th to Saturday the 12th. THAT”S A WHOLE WEEK!!!! It’s exciting because any other trip I’ve taken up there hasn’t quite lasted that long. And I think the weather will be pretty nice up there so that will be nice.

On another positive note (not really important, but to me it is) my nails are getting longer!!! I usually bite my nails but lately, haven’t and so as a result, they are starting to look nice. I apply nail polish on my finger nails when i feel that my nails need to grow out a bit. It acts as a reminder not to bite them.

Other then those things, nothing else going on.

Accomplishments

April 24, 2007 at 10:10 pm (Uncategorized)

After thinking about my life and what I’ve been through, I can say that I have accomplished a lot of my childhood goals/dreams. I was so into karate when i was a kid, seeing demonstrations, movies, video games and shows on tv. So starting at the age of 12, I began taking Tae Kwon Do and that lasted 7 years. I reached the rank 2nd degree black belt. Goal acheived. Another thing I was interested in and wanted really bad as a kid was an electric guitar. I wanted to learn how to play. So one year after bugging my parents, I went to Bay City with my dad and bought an acoustic guitar package. I was so excited. Of course I didn’t know anything at that point about how to play it but I was motivated to teach myself. After a while of playing on that guitar, I ordered another guitar package, this one was an electric squir fender guitar that came with a video, a 15 watt amp, and some other important accessories. I was so happy. My dream of owning an electric guitar came true. I was 16 at the time. I was able to go further with that dream, know I own a Gibson Les Paul Studio. It’s black with gold humbuckers and it’s a beauty. Goal acheived. When I was a young teenager, I had goals to travel to certain states and places that always interested me and that I wanted to go see in real life. These places included Holywood/Los Angeles California, New York City, Washington DC our state capital, and Europe. Over my time period of being a teenager and going through high school, I accomplished these dreams/goals. During Spring Breaks/Christmas breaks me and my family were able to go see these parts of the world. I was able to see Hollywood, walk down the streets of New York City, and see our nation’s capital. A few years back, not to long ago I also accomplished the Europe Trip. Me and my parents traveled to the other side of the world and visited Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. Since then, I have accomplished much more. I have been able to stay in a deep loving relationship with Daniel, my husband-to-be. We’ve been together since freshman year of high school and things are just getting better and better in our relationship. My dream of being proposed to and getting an engagement ring came true thanks to my love. So there is another dream accomplished.

So I have been through a lot in my life, and I have accomplished a lot more then what I have mentioned. It’s wonderful to be able to look back on the things I’ve went through and experienced. I’ve been blessed and am truly thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given.

What A Semester

April 20, 2007 at 7:48 am (Uncategorized)

It’s been a long semester for me at Delta College. Wednesday was my last day at the VA. I made it through my clinical rotation. Seeing how i was the first week and seeing how I am now, there’s a huge difference and I believe i have shown much improvement. God has really guided me through the semester and I praise him for it. I couldn’t have done it without him. He’s given me strength and courage to press forward. Now I’ve got one more week of tests, quizes, and an oral presentation. One test Monday, one quiz Monday, the presentation is Tuesday (i think a pot luck as well), and then two days off to study. Friday is the big comprehensive final. And then… I”M DONE!!!

On another note… my crazy-red-wing-fan fiance, who I love so much and can’t wait to see in two weeks, has decided to go from natural brown hair to a flaming radiant red. I saw pictures (still waiting for more ; P) , and I personally love it.

Goodbye Chicago

Sometimes good things don’t last forever. God has a plan for all of us and we just need to learn how to be patient and follow that plan. Goodbye Chicago.

Easter Weekend

April 8, 2007 at 8:52 pm (Uncategorized)

It’s been a nice little break from school, all two days worth, but hey, I take what i can get. Easter Sunday was today and it was very nice. My family went to Grand Rapids for church and lunch with the relatives. It was nice to see them again. It’s wonderful to know what Easter is really all about. It’s about Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, rising from the dead !!!! Rising from the dead after suffering on our behalf, dying so that we may live. Thank you Lord for loving us that much.

My second week of clinicals went better than the first week for sure. Things ran a little smoother, and the stress level wasn’t as bad. I was able to accomplish what I needed and I believe I was able to help my patient this week. Two more weeks of clinical for me and then a week of an oral presentation and my final exam. Summer break is almost here. It’s amazing that my first semester is almost done.

I’m really missing Daniel. I know I saw him a couple of weeks ago but it’s not enough at all. I wish i could see him every day. I wish i could be there for him, and him for me. It’s just a struggle that we have to go through, and so far, God has guided us and has helped us through it. WE are still deeply in love and will keep waiting for each other. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that. We’ve been together for 7, almost 8 years.
